A 16-year-old Greenwich youth was charged with assault after police said he stabbed another teen in the back with a knife during a weekend altercation at the Wilbur Peck Court housing complex.....
....Police said the fight soon escalated when the 16-year-old suspect obtained his own knife and, after a chase, stabbed the other teenager once in the back, causing minor injuries. Police said the victim, whose age was not provided, tried to flee before the attack.
"The youthful offender caught up with the victim approximately one mile away on Field Point Road," said Sgt. Mark Zuccerella. "The youthful offender engaged the victim in a fight, which resulted in the youthful offender beating and then stabbing the victim.".....
.....The altercation comes just weeks after the Greenwich Housing Authority pledged to put additional funds toward hiring extra police patrols for the area to combat growing disturbances.
In March, several youths and young adults were arrested during a rowdy late-night gathering that turned violent, resulting in several Greenwich police officers being injured.....
....It was not clear if the teen charged with assault resided at Wilbur Peck Court. The teenager was unable to post his $75,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford on May 27.

UPDATE:
The Greenwich Time Topix Message Board Is Starting To Light Up Over How The Wilbur Park Violence Problem Is Being Mismanaged:
The boot says.....
Kick the kid out and his family too.
WAKE UP HOUSING AUTHORITY
Get off the golf course and do your JOB.
BRN says ...
This shows up in the paper six days after the fact. WTF?
March Patrols says ....
But our police chief spent all the available overtime funds providing extra patrols in MARCH, when there was such a great need due to the beautiful weather we were having then.
Now in May and June, there is no need for extra patrols because no trouble makers will be outside due to the terrible weather conditions we face.
We only hire the best and the brightest to lead this department.
SUN86 says .....
Why Housing Authority does not take action to protect all the decent residents in the complex allowing these trash of society to enjoy the previlege of living there?
mmmmmmmmmmm too confortable in their jobs and no one above them to make sure they do what they are supposed to?Who helps the decents residents?
