Parent's curse draws cops to soccer game

Peter Harrisson didn't think he would be able to see his daughter play in the Greenwich High School soccer team's match Wednesday afternoon at Fairfield Warde High School . Kickoff was scheduled for 4 p.m. on a grass field, and he would have been hard-pressed to make it there from his Stamford office.

Play with Your Food gala planned

Tickets are now on sale for the Hats Off to Play With Your Food Fun raising Gala that will take place on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The event, produced by JIB Productions, will take place in Branson Hall at Christ and Holy Trinity at 75 Church Lane . It will raise programming funds for Play With Your Food, Fairfield County's mid-day theater series that combines lunch with play readings and discussion at Westport, Fairfield, and Greenwich venues, according to a press release.

Greenwich Parent Ejected From Sidelines of Girls' Soccer Game in Fairfield

A Greenwich parent was removed from the sidelines and not allowed to return during Wednesday night's girls' soccer game between Greenwich High School and Fairfield Warde in Fairfield, according to the Fairfield Citizen. The Citizen reports that Fairfield Warde Athletic Director Seth Fry notified police after he said some Greenwich parents and fans began screaming profanities when they didn't agree with a referee's call.

It appears the end is near to a federal lawsuit filed by Greenwich Reform Synagogue after the Greenwich Zoning Board of Appeals defaulted in a vote to approve construction of a proposed synagogue in Cos Cob in June. On Thursday morning, the Greenwich Board of Selectmen approved one paragraph contained in the proposed settlement that's scheduled to be voted upon by the ZBA later Thursday at a special meeting scheduled for 7 o'clock.

Woman Charged With DWI After I-95 Accident

RYE, N.Y. New York State Police charged a woman from Greenwich, Conn., with aggravated driving while intoxicated after an accident on Interstate 95 on Wednesday, Oct. 1. Carolyn G. Greenwich Driver Faces DWI Charge Following Crash

The driver of one of the vehicles involved in a minor crash Friday afternoon on Railroad Avenue is facing a driving while intoxicated charge. According to a Greenwich Police report, officers found one of the drivers had an odor of alcoholic beverages on his breath as well as glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.
