04/11/10 The High Paid School Administrators Have Failed: Greenwich Public Schools Are The Number One Reason That The Town Is Going Down The Drain

Fairfield has beat out Greenwich to secure the top spot in CT!

This article is taken from the Town’s Website:

Fairfield Ranked Best Town in CT for 2009 by Connecticut Magazine

The Town of Fairfield was ranked by Connecticut Magazine as “Best Town in Connecticut” for 2009. Using data from categories such as education, economy, cost of living, crime, and leisure/culture, Fairfield came in with this impressive rating thanks to the many civic-oriented citizens, dedicated volunteers and town and school employees who were all given credit by town officials for their work hard that contributes to make our community a special place to live.

According to CT Magazine, “Fairfield finally slipped past Greenwich to snag the top spot among communities. The most telling statistic came in the area of Education, where Fairfield topped Greenwich in Mastery Test scores, CAPT scores and percentage of high school grads going on to college. Fairfield also edged out Greenwich for the highest voter turnout in that population group.”

Fairfield is not only number one for towns with a population of over 50,000, it has the best score for any of the 169 towns in Connecticut.

First Selectman Ken Flatto said, “It certainly makes me feel that all the hard work is worthwhile and makes me feel very fortunate to live in this wonderful community. We have had one of the best business retention rates and less vacancies. We have done much, much better than our Fairfield County brother and sister communities. The extra little things in our school district we’ve improved over the last five years such as curriculum and building improvements are important. “
