Norwalk man charged in Greenwich copper thefts

A Norwalk man was arraigned Tuesday on criminal charges after being accused of stealing copper downspouts and roofing panels from a school and a home in Greenwich. Andrew Woltmann, 31, of Ohio Avenue, Norwalk, was charged by Greenwich police Monday with third-, fourth- and fifth-degree larceny and was held in lieu of $5,500 bond.

Rain could be heavy at times as a nor'easter blows into Fairfield County on Tuesday, causing a Flood Watch for the whole region and a Wind Advisory and Coastal Flood Warning for the shoreline, the National Weather Service said. Greenwich Drivers: Stamford Dept. of Motor Vehicles Office Will Be Closed Wednesday

Area offices of the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles will be closed or have limited hours Wednesday, Dec. 10, in order to train staff for the new Drive Only License program, the department has announced. DMV's Norwalk Office, located at 540 Main Ave., will be closed from 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. due to staff training.


Boys and Girls Club Greenwich To Hold Auditions for Spring Musical

Michael Mead Schmitt, 59, Worked For Airgas In Greenwich

Schmitt was born March 9, 1955, in Stamford, to Michael Carl and Ann Mead Schmitt of Wilton. He was a vice president in banking in the 1980s, and worked in the specialty gas industry working for Airgas in Greenwich for the last 15-plus years.
