Greenwich police have identified the man whose body was found deep inside Mianus River Park over the weekend as 53-year-old James Stevens.

Initial reports had identified Stevens as a local Greenwich man, but authorities confirmed today that he lived on Seneca Street in Rye, NY.

Stevens was found hanging from a tree in the 300-acre park.

Police in both Stamford and Greenwich are investigating the death of a Greenwich man whose body was found Sunday night in the Mianus River Park.

Greenwich police began searching the park after the man, who enjoyed mountain biking in the park, was reported missing.

His body was found late Sunday night on the Stamford side of the park.

It is believed he committed suicide.

As of press time the man had not been officially identified.
