08/31/10 Dan Debicella: My statement on President Obama's address to the nation

E-Updates from the Dan Debicella for Congress Campaign August 31st, 2010
Debicella for Congress

My statement on President Obama's address to the nation

Dear friends,

This evening I issued the following statement regarding President Obama’s televised address to the nation:

"President Obama’s withdrawal of troops from Iraq is appropriate and we are all thankful to have our troops home. While we celebrate the end of our combat mission in Iraq, we cannot ignore the failure of economic policy at home. Jim Himes' rubber-stamping of the failed Obama economic policies continue to hurt American families with no end in sight."

"With unemployment hovering at 10% in Fairfield County, the economic policies out of Washington have been a failure. Despite Jim Himes’ efforts to convince us otherwise, the pork-barrel, big-spending stimulus package has failed to create sustainable jobs. He voted for a record $1.4 trillion deficit. Now Himes is supporting a massive tax increase on January 1st, resulting in almost $3,000 in new taxes for the average Fairfield County family."

"But just like Fairfield County families, I know there is a better way. My proposed payroll tax cut, federal spending cap, and plans to hold taxes steady come January are in stark contrast to the Himes big-government agenda. We celebrate the removal of combat troops in Iraq, but our families at home need new leadership on the economy."

It’s time to restore our economy. It’s time to put America back to work. It’s time to end Jim Himes’s failed economic policies. In November, we will present Fairfield County voters with that opportunity.

Thank you for your continued support as we move on to November.

All my best,

08/31/10 Does Richard Blumenthal Support Cutting The Child Tax Credit?

Does Richard Blumenthal Support Cutting The Child Tax Credit?

West Hartford, Conn., August 31, 2010
No school of economics favors raising taxes in a recession, but at the end of this year, Washington will allow the child tax credit to revert from $1,000 to $500 for each dependent under the age of 17 in the household. This credit is crucial to help reduce the taxes of working families throughout Connecticut. In fact, according to the Tax Foundation, the average Connecticut family claiming the credit saves $1,247 per year. Does Richard Blumenthal support reducing the child tax credit?

Linda McMahon believes we need to stop the child tax credit from being cut. Her stance against raising taxes has been a matter of public record for months and is central to her plan to put people back to work.

Tom Foley for Governor
Ken Dixon’s Blog-o-rama – August 30, 2010
With this response to Tom Foley’s criticism of Dannel Malloy’s endorsement by big labor, the Malloy campaign has demonstrated the fundamental flaw behind Dannel’s candidacy.
· He is too close to the problem to understand the solution.
· He does not know a conflict of interest when he sees one.
· He cannot bargain effectively on behalf of Connecticut taxpayers if he is already in the pocket of state employee labor unions.
On primary day, Dannel Malloy was on a picket line with members of a healthcare union demonstrating against a group of nursing homes. This as some of the top state employee labor unions helped deliver him a resounding victory over former union favorite Ned Lamont. A few days later, Malloy picked up the endorsement of the state AFL-CIO.
As governor, Dannel Malloy would have to bargain with state employee union leadership on behalf of Connecticut taxpayers. But how can he do so effectively if he owes his political success to that same group?
Mayor Malloy’s dismissive response to this question only serves to prove that he is so close to the unions he cannot see the inherent conflict of interest their support of his campaign has created.
The question still remains:
What promise did Dannel Malloy make to win the union endorsement? No cut-backs? No reduction in benefits? No salary freeze? Further job killing mandates on employers? How much will union support for Dan Malloy cost Connecticut’s citizens?

About Marchesi di Barolo

Since 2006, the winery has been under the direction of the family of Ernesto Abbona which, with more than 60 percent of the shares, has a majority control. This has permitted an increase in productivity and refocusing of commercial strategy which is the reason behind the growth of the business in recent years. The operating principle behind the business is a firm conviction of and commitment to the indisputable quality of the wines produced in this region, as characterized by a number of indigenous vines of great prestige. In fact, the composition of the soil in the lower regions of Piedmont is quite unique.

Marchesi di Barolo can be considered a medium-sized winery: It controls approximately 110 hectares of vineyards from which it produces approximately 1.5 million bottles of wine. The winery produces Barolo, Barbaresco, Nebbiolo d’Alba, Barbera d’Alba, Dolcetto d’Alba, Roero Arneis, Gavi, Moscato d’Asti e Brachetto d’Acqui.

Concerning the future, the enthusiastic proprietors of Marchesi di Barolo plan to further intensify and deepen the already close ties with the estate’s vineyard holdings, while at the same time continuing to increase the presence of its products in the best sales venues and consumer markets throughout the world, with a special emphasis on the high-quality restaurant sector. The future of Marchesi di Barolo is in good hands: The continuity of its mission guaranteed by a new, younger generation already engaged in the pursuit of specially targeted courses of study.

08/31/10 Birds Of A Feather Flock Together - Taking A Look At Congressman Jim Himes And His Wanna-Be Dan Debicella

The Greenwich Time's Niel Vigdor Tries To Give Us Some Thoughtful Political Analysis, But Comes Up Short.

Third Rate Political Analyst Wanna-Be Niel Vigdor Certainly Is Not A Ken Dixon Or A Brian Lockhart ......

Tell me who you walk with, and I’ll tell you who you are

We put U.S. Rep. Jim Himes, D-Conn., on the spot Friday about President Obama’s September fundraising trip to Connecticut.

“The president is always welcome in Fairfield County,” Himes said to Hearst Connecticut Newspapers via e-mail.

Himes’ comment is 180-degrees from a warning to Obama not to come here by former Connecticut Democratic Party Chairman John Droney, who suggested that the visit could be a liability for the candidates during a taping of the WFSB-Channel 3 Sunday talk show “Face the State.”

But Himes did not say whether he will be at Obama’s side for the upcoming fundraiser, which a Himes aide might conflict with the congressional vote schedule.

State Sen. Dan Debicella, R-Conn., who is challenging the freshman Himes, is hoping to feast on the issue.....

Now Here Is What Third Rate Greenwich Time Political Analyst Niel Vigdor Would Tell You If He Had A Pair Of Journalistic Balls ....

Shelton Resident Dan "No I Really Am A Moderate" Debicella Seeks Support From Connecticut Tea Party Radicals

In 2009, Connecticut Tea Party supporters like Al Alper, Cathy Grippi and failed Republican primary candidate Rob "I Got High And Forgot To Vote" Merkle united around a belief the federal government has exceeded its constitutionally delineated powers and threatens American freedoms.

A CBS News poll released in April 2010, Tea Party supporters tended to be white, male, married and older than age forty-five.

Nearly 9 in 10 disapprove of President Obama’s performance, and 92% believe the President is moving the country toward socialism.

Other polls have shown that a significant number of these tea party radicals also believe that President Obama is a secret Muslim, That President Obama is not really american and that 9/11 was an inside job.

It is no surprise that these radical Connecticut Tea Partiers members harbor a fierce animosity towards incumbents. Supporters classify themselves in opinion polls as not simply “dissatisfied”, but instead, “angry” with incumbents.

Polls reveal the same holds true for these radical Connecticut Tea Party members have the same views about elected officials at the state and local level.

Many of these wrong headed Connecticut Tea Party radicals believe the President Obama's priorities are disproportionately weighted to aiding the poor at the expense of the middle class and wealthier Americans.

At least 25% think that President Obama is a racist who favors blacks over whites, compared with 11% of the general public.

Some of these radical tea party activists like Al Alper have been registering tea party names, setting up local web sites and organizing a small band of radicals that hold little street protests in hopes of starting a third Connecticut political party.

Yet, Alpers dreams of being the Connecticut Tea Party chairman, when all of his supported canidates went down in flames.

Radical Tea Party members, like Al Alpert, have an

ultimate goal is to create a national Tea Party, much like Billionaire Ross Perot's short lived national Reform Party in 1992.

This movement has become a daily talking point on twenty-four hour talk radio and cable network shows,

and laid claim to some recent, high-profile events where a megalomaniac named Glen Beck took over the Lincoln Memorial as others came to honor Martin Luther King.

This movement has been in the headlines for about a year, and candidates like Dan Debicella, is hedging his congressional election bet by capitalizing on the Tea Party name in Connecticut.

Debicella tapped into the Tea Party’s appearance of political voltage by portraying slaming the typical country-club Republican's of Greenwich.

Moderate mainstream Republican avoid going to a Dan Debicella event, because they are afraid that

Merle Haggard’s 1969 hit “I’m An Okie from Muskogee” will twang through the public address system as Debicella attendees shout “Chuck Schumer is a terrorist!!!!!"

Debicella has warned us that hundreds of “violent-criminal-illegal immigrants” were pouring over the U.S. border with Mexico.

Any day now, one expects desperate Dan Debicella to try and claim this

claim to represent “the awakening of the silent tea party majority" by saying something stupid like .....

“Just give me a school bus and a big ole gun, and let’s go down to the Greenwich Hospital Emergency Rooms and the places in Stamford where those Mexican's stand out for work and just round them up.”

Don't forget that Dan Debicella is the incumbent politician and insurance company executive has

repeatedly sided with insurance companies voting against nearly all senators to deny coverage for prosthetics, hearing aids for children, and treatments to help cancer patients find bone marrow donors.

Debicella was one of four senators to side with insurance companies against deaf children.

Twice Debicella was one of two votes against requiring coverage of bone marrow treatments designed to expand the National Bone Marrow Registry that helps match cancer patients with donors.

Dan Debicella has the worst environmental record of any Connecticut state senator in the past decade, according to Connecticut’s League of Conservation Voters.

Dan Debicella voted to deny emergency contraception to victims of rape.

In 2007, Dan Debicella was one of three senators to vote against a bill requiring all Connecticut hospitals to offer emergency contraception to rape victims.

Moderate Greenwich Republican candidates like Linda McMahon and Tom Foley wont com with in 10 miles of a radical Connecticut Tea Party or Dan Debicella.

The facts are the facts ...... 35% Of Connecticut's Republicans live in lower Fairfield County and there base is Greenwich, Connecticut Which is socially moderate. Greenwich Republican Representatives and Senators would never vote to deny hearing aids to children.

Greenwich Republicans refer to themselves as "Compassionate Conservatives" and often reject wrong head right wing radicals.

Debicella's desire to jump on the band wagon of the New Right” is turning of Greenwich Republican's who view the out of town Tea Party members as the modern version of the John Birch Society and part of a larger, reactionary drift in American politics.

One Must Judge Dan Debicella By The Company That He Seeks Out ....

VIDEO: The John Birch Society in 1958, Forerunner of the Tea Party Movement?

You Remember The John Birch Society, They Were The Folks Who Said President Dwight Eisenhower Was A Conscious Agent Of The Communist Party

They John Birch Society Are Also The Folks That Still Say

Just One More Thing....

Barack Obama IS NOT A Socialist,
But Jeasus Christ WAS A Socialist......

Jesus was the very first Socialist.
Got your attention with that statement, didn’t I?

Jesus was the first Socialist, this isn’t really a question, but a statement of fact based upon the New Testament Bible.

In fact it is an interesting phenomenon that those who are most vocal in their rejection of social programs to assist the poor and displaced of our society are the very same who in most cases espouse Christian values as the basis of their political stance.

Mark Chapter 10:21-25:

21Jesus looked at him and loved him. "One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” 22At this the man's face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth. 23Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!” 24The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, "Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! 25It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

Here we have a very good example of Utopian Socialism in action with Jesus telling the wealthy young man the only way to follow him and gain heaven was to give away his great wealth to the poor,

in other words redistribution of personal wealth to those with great need from those with great riches. Naturally, this must be very difficult for some to swallow, notice that the young mans face ‘fell’ when told he must give away his wealth to follow Jesus.

Matthew 25:31-46:
The Parable of the Sheep and the Goats

41"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.' 44"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ 45"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’46"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life”.

Jesus' brother James also seemed to be a Utopian Socialist being

James 2:1-7:

1My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don't show favoritism.2Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in. 3If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, "Here's a good seat for you," but say to the poor man, "You stand there" or "Sit on the floor by my feet," 4have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? 5Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? 6But you have insulted the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court? 7Are they not the ones who are slandering the noble name of him to whom you belong?

Providing for the weakest members of society should be a given rather than a fight. Just as a purely Socialist economy is not sustainable neither is a purely Capitalist driven economy as we have ample proof of today in the United States.

So I say again, Jesus was the first Socialist. Perhaps all those who shout from their pulpits and their soapboxes about their moral right to gain riches on the backs and at the cost of others should check their premise. While they are pointing fingers and calling names, perhaps they should read the book they claim that they are standing upon.

The Question Is Not "What Would Jesus Do?"

The Question Is "What Should You Do?"

Dan Debicella Voted To Deny Children Access To Hearing Aids

Would You Or Jesus Do That?

Receiving a child into your arms in the name of Jesus is a way to receive Jesus. And receiving Jesus is a way to receive God. Therefore how we deal with children is a signal of our fellowship with God.

When Jesus saw that his disciples were arguing over which of them was the greatest, “He sat down and called the twelve. . . .And he took a child and put him in the midst of them, and taking him in his arms, he said to them,

Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me, receives not me but him who sent me.’” (Mark 9:34-37).

According to the scripture Jesus healed thousands of people, from the officials dying son, to the leper, the paralyzed man, the blind man at Bethsaida etc etc...

Jesus never turned anyone away because of a pre-existing condition. He never sent anyone insurmountable bills that ultimately led to financial futility. He never rationed healthcare to those who could afford it, while excluding those who could not,

Jesus taught us that healthcare was not a luxury, it was simply the Christian thing to do.

In fact, healing is a constitutive element of Jesus’ ministry. His first miracles in the Gospel of Mark are casting a demon from a man and healing a woman with a fever. In the whole of the gospels, there are 41 distinct stories of physical or mental healing. Jesus heals the blind, cures the withered hand and stops the bleeding.

He called his followers to do the same. Jesus instructed his disciples to go into towns and “cure the sick who are there” (Luke 10:9).

Jesus would not say don't help that sick illegal alien living and working in Byram section of Greenwich.
