Founder Of Haitian Charity Gets 191/2 Years In Prison For Sexually Abusing Boys In His Care

A federal judge this afternoon sentenced Douglas Christian Perlitz, the founder of a Haitian charity, to the full 191/2 years requested by prosecutors for sexually abusing impoverished boys in his care.

Abe Giles, on trial for extortion and other charges in connection with the corruption trial of former Mayor Eddie Perez, has taken a plea deal with prosecutors.
