Memphis native Paul Tudor Jones , who founded Greenwich, Connecticut-based Tudor Investment Corporation, a private asset management company and hedge fund , in 1980, is known to be an active trader. The third quarter of 2014 may or may not be representative of how Jones typically invests in a quarter, but he certainly lived up to his reputation, purchasing shares in nearly 900 companies and selling holdings in more than 500 others.


Berkshire Hathaway Real Estate Helps Their Greenwich Neighbors

The Greenwich and Old Greenwich offices of Berkshire Hathaway New England Properties joined forces with Neighbor to Neighbor to help 300 families in need in Greenwich for the Thanksgiving holiday. In a statement, the firm said, "We heard that N2N was distributing 300 turkeys that were donated by a local market and thought we could help by providing the trimmings.

A Holiday Dinner Rescue for Greenwich Firefighters

As they have since 1973, a band of members of the Greenwich Professional Firefighters Local 1042 made their appointed holiday rounds the Monday morning before Thanksgiving, delivering dinners to the widows and local residents who might not have the fixings for a holiday dinner. "It started in 1973 with a couple guys who collected donations and went out and bought dinner for a couple of widows," said Firefighter Matt Romeo.

Docimo was born Jan. 8, 1925, in Rose, Cosenza, Italy, to Secondo Docimo and Annunziata Paese Docimo. He worked in construction and as a landscaper in Stamford and Greenwich for most of his life.

John Nicholas Dole, 84, passed away peacefully at Pen Bay Medical Center Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, surrounded by his family, following a period of declining health. John grew up in Spuyten Duyvil, N.Y., a suburb of the Bronx, and as a teenager moved with his family to Greenwich, Conn.

Fallen Tree Blocks Merritt Parkway In Greenwich

A fallen tree was blocking the Merritt Parkway northbound between Exits 27 and 28 on Monday morning, the Connecticut Department of Transportation said. The Connecticut State Police and DOT are reportedly on the scene between the exits for Route 120A/King Street and Round Hill Road.

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Rotator cuff injuries, the bane of baseball pitchers everywhere and the injury that ended Mark "The Bird" Fidrych's career, is the focus of a book by a New Canaan doctor Dr. Edward Craig, an orthopedic surgeon at the Hospital for Special Surgery Physician Office in Greenwich, has co-authored a textbook on large rotator cuff tears, a common shoulder injury.


Greenwich High May Add AP World History Course For Freshmen

A proposal to include an Advanced Placement world history class for ninth-graders has become a divisive issue among Greenwich parents, according to greenwichtime.com. Some PTA members have asked the school to include an AP class in an effort to challenge students, but there are others who say high school freshmen shouldn't be taking college level courses, greenwichtime.com reported.
