Le Herisson - The Elegance of the Hedgehog directed by Mona Acache with Josiane Blasko, written by Muriel Barberry, will be featured at Focus on French Cinema 2010 on Sunday afternoon, April 11, at 2 p.m., at The Performing Arts Center at Purchase College. For information and tickets please visit: www.focusonfrenchcinema.org. Don't miss the opportunity to see the film that everyone who has read the book has been waiting for. Book Review - Michael Dirda, The Washington Post "Renée Michel is the dumpy, nondescript, 54-year-old concierge of a small and exclusive Paris apartment building... Paloma Josse also lives in the building. Acutely intelligent, introspective and philosophical, this 12-year-old views the world as absurd and records her observations about it in her journal... These two characters provide the double narrative of The Elegance of the Hedgehog, and you will -- this is going to sound corny -- fall in love with both..."

"Tender and satirical in its overall tone, yet most absorbing because of its reflections on the nature of beauty and art, the meaning of life and death... The intelligent Muriel Barbery has served readers well by giving us the gently satirical, exceptionally winning and inevitably bittersweet Elegance of the Hedgehog."

Muriel Barbery was born in Casablanca, raised in France, and lives in Japan with her husband Stéphane. Her novel
The Elegance of the Hedgehog was in second spot on the 2009 IndieBound bestseller list and 13th on the New York Times bestseller list, and a bestseller in France, Italy, Germany, Spain, South Korea and many other countries.

Anna Quindlen Every Last One
Greenwich Library
101 W. Putnam Avenue, Greenwich, CT
Free and Open to the Public

The Greenwich Library and Just Books are thrilled to welcome Pulitzer Prize-winning and #1 New York Times bestselling author Anna Quindlen to the Greenwich Library as she introduces her new novel, Every Last One (Random House, April 13, 2010, $26).

In her newest novel, Anna Quindlen creates an unforgettable portrait of a mother, father, a family, and the explosive, violent consequences of what seem like inconsequential actions. Every Last One is a novel about facing every last one of the things we fear most, about finding ways to navigate a road we never intended to travel, to live a life we never dreamed we'd have to live but must be brave enough to try.

Quindlen is the author of five bestselling novels: Rise and Shine, Blessings, Object Lessons, One True Thing, Black and Blue; and six nonfiction books: Being Perfect, Loud & Clear, A Short Guide to a Happy Life, Living Out Loud, Thinking Out Loud, and How Reading Changed My Life. 04/02/10 Greenwich Roundup Reader Comments About Teri Buhl

Hi

Your blog and TOPIX seem to be having problems at least date wise.

I just saw a reply I made to a TOPIX post by Diva and you go off into la la land. It was about a Feb post diva made about Teri Buhl one of my favorites.

I see on Fountain Teri is now writing for Fortune.

I'm glad to see she bounced back.

I always liked her tell it like it is style which was way to bold for the wimps at Greenwich time!!

IDAHO

COMMENT:
When Greenwich Diva Started Volunteering At The Greenwich Topix Message Board She Published An Article That Was Not About Greenwich, And I Sent Her A Message That This Was Not Acceptable.
Since That TimE She Has Followed The Rules But Those Corrective Messages Follow Her Around.
I Think She Has A Cookie In Her Browser That Flags Her When She Posts.
I Also Reported On Teri Buhl's New Possition, But I Had Some Errors And TyposThat Had To Be Corrected.

04/02/10 New comment on 04/01/10 Homeless Greenwich Farmer Del Zannette Passed Away

Anonymous has left a new comment on the Greenwich Roundup post "04/01/10 Homeless Greenwich Farmer Del Zannette Passed Away":

This literally leaves agriculture in Greenwich standing on only one leg, a long fall from the Town's glorious past as a local food producer.

Last week we drove from Florida to Greenwich, and along the entire trip we observed only one herd of animals (beef cows) and one piece of working farm equipment, a tractor and disc rig. Fifteen deer were sighted inside the I-95 right-of-way, so what's happened here seems widespread and sad.
