The second commentator chirped in eight hours later with....
"All the coven of blackguard bloggers about Greenwich do is aggregate content from the newspapers; and if they disappeared they would have to take out their feeding tubes and try to find out what was going on."
I wished I had received the same comment, because I liked it so much I would have called Greenwich Roundup The Home Of " "Greenwich's coven of blackguard Bloggers" !!!!!
But Chris was two steps a head of me and told commenter number two....
"Love it! I've added the phrase to my header. Thanks."
So Now the Blog is known as.....

And for anonymous commentator number two there are all ready towns in Connecticut and New York that have independent reporters and are monetized and commercially viable.
Moreover, they are not tied down by the expensive and inefficient process of producing a broad sheet newspaper every morning.

In fact, Here Is A News Flash For What It's Worth's Anonymous commentator number two.
The Greenwich Time's former editor and reporters who were recently fired had looked into developing an independent news website for Greenwich that would accept ads and compete head to head against Hearst Media's Greenwich Time property and possibly the Stamford Advocate property.
The big hold up was the $25,000 - $35,000 estimated cost of setting up a corporate web site with an IT guy.
Of coarse a bunch of corporate suits and a bunch of journalism majors are not able to think outside of the box.....
But a bunch of independent minded local bloggers could band together and form an independent news website if monetized would put the final nail in the Greenwich Time coffin.
The Greenwich Time had better pray to god that....

- Let's Face The Fact's Hearst's Greenwich Time Editors And Reporters Are Just Lazy.
- The Hearst Media's other property only updates once a week with news that is 10 to 14 days old. Editor Don Harrison doesn't even know what the words news scoop mean. Editor Don Harrison would not know a news story if it came up and bit him on the ass.
- And the Greenwich Post is the undisputed King Of Publishing Press Releases Word For Word and not marking them as such.

A dwindling and disgusted readership at the Greenwich Time is bringing radical changes at that newspaper year after year after year.
The reason this is happening is that Greenwich news editors are taking their news reading customers for granted. The editors of the Greenwich Citizen, Greenwich Post and the Greenwich Time forgot all about.....

That is a breach of journalistic duty.
We need local journalists to step up to the plate and get at the truth and to keep watch against abuses of power and if the mainstream media won't do it the bloggers an citizen journalists will !!!!!It is not like mainstream journalists at the Greenwich Time were not repeatedly warned that being lazy journalist could cause them to lose their jobs.

When is local journalism not really local? When it's about Pasadena and written by someone in India. James Macpherson, editor and publisher of the Pasadena Now website, hired two reporters last weekend to cover the Pasadena City Council.
One lives in Mumbai and will be paid $12,000 a year. The other will work in Bangalore for $7,200. The council broadcasts its meetings on the Web. From nearly 9,000 miles away, the outsourced journalists plan to watch, then write their stories while their boss sleeps India is 12.5 hours ahead of Pacific Standard Time. "A lot of the routine stuff we do can be done by really talented people in another time zone at much lower wages," said Macpherson, 51, who used to run a clothing business with manufacturing help from Vietnam and India.
So, on the Indian version of Craigslist, he posted an ad that said in part, "We do not believe that geographic distance between California and India will present unsurmountable problems, and that working together with you will result in your development of a keen working knowledge of this city's affairs." Dozens replied. One of the two chosen had attended the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. Rob Gunnison, the director of school affairs there, is dismayed. "It just seems so fundamental to journalism to be there," Gunnison said. "I still can't quite believe it's not a hoax."
It's not. Macpherson plans to run his first batch of outsourced stories Tuesday. The Pasadena native runs the website, which he said gets 45,000 visitors a month, on a shoestring budget from his condo with help from his wife, a data entry worker and two interns. Macpherson plans to hire half a dozen more Indian reporters. He'll add some local flavor by doing interviews, then e-mailing the recordings to India. "When you instant-message someone in Mumbai, it's like looking over her shoulder," he said.
Larry Wilson, editor of the 30,000-circulation Pasadena Star-News newspaper, scoffed. "To pretend you can get the feel and the culture of a town as complicated and interesting as Pasadena by e-mailing and doing things over the Internet is nutty," he said.

BRIDGEPORT - Hearst Corp. announced Friday it has bought the Connecticut Post and seven non-daily newspapers from Denver-based MediaNews Group Inc. for an undisclosed amount.MNG Chief Executive Officer Dean Singleton made the announcement to Post staff in the newsroom. It was eight years after Singleton's privately held company bought the Post and five non-dailies from Thomson Newspapers Inc.
.Hearst is also taking control of The Advocate of Stamford, Greenwich Time, The News-Times of Danbury and the New Milford Spectrum, which MNG had been managing, through a joint operating agreement. The combined circulation of Hearst's Connecticut properties is 137,000 daily, 151,000 on Sunday and 53,000 non-daily.
