11/13/09 Auto Magnate Malcolm Pray's Daughter Goes To Court

Greenwich woman pleads not guilty in alleged art fraud

Natasha Gagne, the daughter of local auto magnate Malcolm Pray, pleaded not guilty in state Superior Court Thursday to charges stemming from an alleged art insurance scheme.

Gagne, also known as Tina, is charged with first-degree criminal attempt at larceny and insurance fraud, both felony charges, for allegedly tricking her stepfather into making an insurance claim against a painting she had already sold at auction, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

Gagne's attorney, Eugene Riccio, said Gagne maintains her innocence.

"She looks forward to her day in court, and particularly looks forward to confronting her accusers, most notably her stepfather, Richard Ford," Riccio said.

Gagne, 46, of 6 Stanwich Road, turned herself in to police last week after a two-month criminal investigation by police, the FBI, the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Southern District of New York and insurance investigators from the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies.......
