Police investigate possible Byram assault

Police are investigating an alleged assault that occurred in Byram Monday night after a woman claimed she was attacked during a clash between a group of men, officials said.

The woman, who was not identified, told police she was struck with different objects by a group of men who had pulled their car beside her and her two male friends at approximately 10:30 p.m. Monday on South Water Street.....

....Allen said the police reports did not indicate that the woman had any noticeable injuries or if she had received medical treatment following the alleged incident.....

.....Police would not confirm whether the assault had any connection to a gang fight that occurred in Port Chester, N.Y., on Sunday night in which six men were arrested......
