With not a lot of varsity experience on this year’s Greenwich High School boys basketball roster, the Cardinals were able to do something no other basketball team at GHS was able to achieve.
Coming into this season, GHS head coach Bill Brehm looked on his roster and noticed how many seniors were lost to graduation. The likes of leading scorer Russ Rosenband, lead rebounder Chris Valentine and other athletes like Chris Bisanzo and Sean Massi were no longer on the team, and GHS was left to almost start anew.
However, with a regular-season record of 13-7 overall, the Cardinals qualified for both the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference and Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference class LL tournaments for the third consecutive season, something that has never been accomplished in Greenwich.....
