Police Watch: The following reports were released April 9
Via the Greenwich Post
Steven Caldwell, 23, of 27 Havemeyer Place was arrested April 8 and charged with driving under the influence. Police had been patrolling Railroad Avenue when an officer reportedly saw Caldwell’s car approach the intersection with Arch Street at a high rate of speed before jamming hard on the brakes to stop for the red light. The vehicle skidded and, once the light turned green, police said it once again began traveling at a high rate of speed as Caldwell made a left turn. After reportedly watching it swerve over the road’s double yellow lines, police stopped the car. Caldwell allegedly had bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol. Police charged that he failed field sobriety tests and was arrested. In addition to the DUI charge, Caldwell was cited for failure to drive in an established lane and unsafe movement. Caldwell was released on a $250 cash bond and is due in court April 24.
