Charging the town and Board of Education with negligence towards protecting them and their children, a group of Hamilton Avenue School parents have filed a class action lawsuit in Stamford Superior Court.

...“This is a step born of the parents’ frustration with the inability to get information from the school district about the conditions their kids were subjected to for the better part of three years,” Mr. Levine told the Post on Tuesday. “The conditions have resulted in very real health effects for the kids and their parents and very real fears about potential future effects should they be exposed to these kinds of toxins again.”......

.... Board Chairwoman Nancy Weissler said it is board policy not to comment on litigation and referred all questions to Town Attorney John Wayne Fox. Mr. Fox could not be reached for comment before deadline.....

Board Chairwoman Nancy Weissler wont tell you this, but Greenwich Post Reporter Ken Borsuk will :

......The suit claims because of the Board of Education’s “failure to correct the persistent moisture problem,” children, parents and members of the public were exposed to “unhealthy levels” of mold, causing them to suffer “significant health effects” including persistent and severe headaches, fatigue, persistent strep throat and ear and sinus infections and nose bleeds, dizziness, nausea and neurological symptoms.....

....Bill Carpenter, owner of Carp Building Structures Inc., told the Post that any claims that air quality was unhealthy in the modulars because of how they were installed was “erroneous” and that he has reports to back that up. He added that if there were problems he could have had them “fixed in a month” but that when he would call the school district he would be told they couldn’t speak to him about it and then hang up.


“I never had a chance to respond to any of this,” Mr. Carpenter said......
