Throughout October, I met with more than 60 women-owned small businesses across the state and held a series of roundtable discussions with some of the women responsible for employing more than 92,000 workers in Connecticut.
While the reasons for starting their own business were as diverse as the businesses themselves, there was a common theme to all of their stories. Government must get out of the way in order for small business owners to create jobs to get the 160,000 unemployed in Connecticut back to work.
To share with you what I heard from small business owners from Enfield to Milford and everywhere in between, I wrote an Op-Ed in the Connecticut Mirror that talks about the fears the real job creators have about the direction of our country and the state of our economy. Please take a moment to read it and view highlights from our tour at JobCreatorsforLinda.com.
After meeting with these hardworking small business owners, I am more convinced than ever that the jobs people so desperately need will not be created by government. If you agree, then I ask you to consider supporting our campaign.
Sincerely,
Linda
