Dear Friends, I am writing to express my deepest thanks for your generosity and trust. The past fundraising quarter was not only successful, but it will mean so much more next November, because we have laid the foundation for what could be a competitive campaign. This is a challenging political climate. There will be no “winners,” and sacrifices will be painful and shared, as debt limit negotiations end and we begin the process of putting our nation on a sustainable path. We will not soon see an end to the understandable frustration and anger consuming our politics. This is why next November is going to be especially challenging for Democrats. I know I will continue to need the help you have so graciously and enthusiastically provided over these last few years. You have been friends and advisors to me and for that, I am grateful.
