West Hartford, Conn., August 31, 2010 – No school of economics favors raising taxes in a recession, but at the end of this year, Washington will allow the child tax credit to revert from $1,000 to $500 for each dependent under the age of 17 in the household. This credit is crucial to help reduce the taxes of working families throughout Connecticut. In fact, according to the Tax Foundation, the average Connecticut family claiming the credit saves $1,247 per year. Does Richard Blumenthal support reducing the child tax credit?
Linda McMahon believes we need to stop the child tax credit from being cut. Her stance against raising taxes has been a matter of public record for months and is central to her plan to put people back to work.
