On Sunday afternoon I had emergency need to drive from central Greenwich to Hawthorn, NY just a few miles from the Westchester Airport. I passed through many local streets there that seemed to have suffered equal tree damage to power poles and lines, compared to Greenwich. Yet every street had already been cleaned up and made passable. There were neat piles of stacked cut-up branches. Many Con-Ed crews were observed out working. Power was still out, but the work had been finished to clear secondary roads already.
Returning on I-95 I observed many convoy utility crews passing through Greenwich on their way into Westchester and points west.
Just a question - Could the Greenwich Town position toward CL&P tree trimming and line clearing crews, as well as our precarious relationship in Hartford to the rest of the State, put Greenwich utility relief on the back burner of emergency services?
Don't know, but how many crews have you seen in your neighborhood?
Name withheld on request.
