Again, our children our sacrificed for the sake of a test. Now the school is ready and we have a very convenient 5 week plan until we can move. This ensures "no disruption of the CMT's.". Well, thank God for that! Our children can stay in the crowded, leaking, soon to be mold filled again modulars.
Tell me, district wide, do you bring the children in before school starts to show them the lunchroom, assign them their lunchtime seat, and do a test fire drill? Do we show them the art and music room? These are all things that can be done in a single morning. Didn't our teachers' union vote that they WANT to move as soon as possible, meaning Feb. break? If there are "conditions" to the TCO, why risk our littlest students? Bottom line , this is the only truth in the press release about why we are not moving ."Additionally, this schedule avoids disruption to the preparation for and administration of the March CMT testing schedule."
Funny, before any 5 week plan was developed , we were constantly told that a move in Feb was not possible because it would disrupt the CMT's and result in (dare I say it), lower test scores.
Enough! We keep hearing that our children are resilient , let them prove it now.
Move us over Feb. break. We have two full weeks now, we relocated to 6 locations in a week, this should be a piece of cake.
