Dogs needn't be regarded as threats at beach

This is in response to the unfortunate citizens of Greenwich who suffer from an irrational fear of unleashed dogs on town property, and who feel the need to "protect" the rest of us.
Dogs are friendly and intelligent creatures, often cleaner and better-behaved than the average human toddlers that are so coveted. When dogs are loose on the beach, they are far more interested in romping around with their fellow canines than they are randomly mauling joggers. In fact, I've never seen any instance of the latter.
In addition, for those who complain about dogs defecating on the beach: Clean-up is the owner's responsibility, not the dog's, as they are not potty-trainable. And personally, I find it far more disgusting and offensive when a human family leaves their food garbage all over the beach than coming across a stray pile of poo.
