Town resident pleads guilty to tax charge

A Greenwich man pleaded guilty to one count of tax evasion in federal court in White Plains, N.Y., yesterday, admitting to using money from the Manhattan hotel he managed to renovate his Greenwich home.

Peter Arest, 62, of 12 Dwight Lane, admitted that in 2001 and 2002 he spent more than $180,000 belonging to The Hotel Metro on 35th Street in Manhattan to renovate a Greenwich home, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York.
