03/23/08 - "I think I would do a good job of it," said Roberson, who grew up in Greenwich and is a member of the Representative Town Meeting.

Roberson expected to be new DTC chair

Greenwich Time - Staff Writer

Reinvigorated the past few years by the candidacies Ned Lamont, Edward Krumeich Jr. and Frank Farricker, Greenwich Democrats are poised to select party workhorse David Roberson as their next chairman.

Roberson's name is at the top of a slate of proposed officers that will be voted on next Thursday night by the Democratic Town Committee.

A
key volunteer on Farricker's 2006 campaign for state Senate and 2007 campaign for first selectman, both of which were unsuccessful, Roberson would take over for congressional hopeful Jim Himes as DTC chairman....

....
Roberson played an integral role in Farricker's Senate campaign, as well as bid for first selectman last year against Peter Tesei.

"He did an amazing amount of work for both of my campaigns," said Farricker, who is the District 2/Harbor leader for the DTC. "He's very dedicated. He's very smart. He's going to do a superb job."

After graduating from Greenwich High School in 1985, Roberson received a degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He worked as a contractor for NASA at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, where he received a master's in space science from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.

The DTC has 75 members and about a dozen associate members. The vote on the slate of proposed officers will be 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the Town Hall Meeting Room.

Just last month, a record 63 percent of registered party members voted in the Super Tuesday presidential primary, choosing Barack Obama over Hillary Rodham Clinton, the same result as the state.

"I think we made a lot of progress in terms of organization, getting people excited and channeling the very real desire for change through the DTC," Himes said.

03/23/08 - Happy Easter - Today The Quotes At The End Of Articles Will Be About Jesus

Jesus Speaks About
Public Prayer & Displays of Faith:

And when thou pray, thou shall not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in
the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
But thou, when thou pray, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret…
[Matthew 6:6 & 7]

Quotes About Jesus

"A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic - on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg - or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God; or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.

C.S. Lewis,
British author (1898-1963)

"Every person is Christ for me, and since there is only one Jesus, that person is the one person in the world at that moment."

Mother Teresa (1910-97)
