04/09/12 PRESS RELEASE: Chris and Chris - The Pain at the Pump Edition

Dear Editor,
Last week I shared with you a comparison on Congressmen Chris Shays and Chris Murphy’s shared record of supporting reckless spending that has led to record debt. On many of the most important issues facing Connecticut, there’s simply no difference between Chris and Chris.

Moments ago, the campaign released another important comparison, this time on their support for higher gas prices and opposition to expanded energy supplies.
Thank you for your continued support,

Corry Bliss
Campaign Manager
Linda for Senate 2012

Chris and Chris:
The Pain at the Pump Edition

For the second time in just five days, Congressman Chris Murphy is headed into a debate to defend the job-killing record in Washington that he shares with Congressman Chris Shays.

What separates Chris Shays from Chris Murphy? Not much when it comes to supporting higher gas prices and opposing expanded domestic energy supplies. Chris and Chris both believe higher energy prices are sustainable in the marketplace. Why else would both be such strong advocates for Cap and Trade - an energy policy that will kill thousands of jobs and raise our energy prices?

With nearly three decades in Washington, on the issue of energy and gas prices, what do Chris and Chris have to show for it? The chart below is a good place to start:
