John Ravitz, the chief executive officer of the Westchester chapter of the American Red Cross, resigned Friday.
He left his post to become the executive vice president of the Business Council of Westchester, according to an Oct. 7 memo he sent to his colleagues.
"In this position I will be working and lobbying for the creation of jobs and job retention so critical in today's economy," he said in the memo. "I will continue to be an advocate for the American Red Cross and continue our work to improve our communities and our lives, but in a different forum."
In September it was announced that the Westchester and Greenwich, Conn., chapters would consolidate....
