03/28/10 GREENWICH FLOOD WATCH NOTIFICATION

The Town of Greenwich advises you the National Weather Service has issued a FLOOD WATCH for the entire State of Connecticut. The forecast anticipates heavy rain with accumulation ranging from 3 to as much as 8 inches of rain over the next 36 to 48 hours. The Town is providing sand bags at the Glenville, Cos Cob and Sound Beach Fire Departments starting this evening and continuing through the storm event to assist residents with property protection. We strongly recommend residents take action to safeguard their personal property most notably in the low lying, flood prone and coastal flood areas.

If at anytime you feel you are in imminent danger due to flooding you should call 911. For non-emergency assistance please call Public Safety Dispatch at 203-622-8003.
