Composer's Showcase 2010
A Benefit Concert
for the
People of Haiti
Wednesday,February 10 at 7PM
Greenwich High School Auditorium

Snow date: Thursday Feb 11

Faculty and staff are welcome to come for free but please consider making
a donation. Tickets will be $10 and will go on sale Monday, Feb 1st in GHS
Student Activities or can be purchased at the door. This year, proceeds
from Composer's Showcase ticket sales will be donated to the American Red
Cross, AmeriCares and other organizations to help the relief efforts in
Haiti.

Come to Composer's Showcase and support GHS student composers and help the
Haitian people.

Greenwich High School has been producing an annual concert of
student-composed music called Composer's Showcase for over 20 years.
Composer's Showcase is an opportunity for student composers to perform
their original music and to have it adjudicated by professional composers.
Compositions are in one of four categories, Singer/Songwriter,
Instrumental Music, Electronic Music and Bands.

A special performance by the band P & Friends (Haitian native Mr. Jean
Pointdujour, GHS Math Teacher, and friends).

And of course, the GHS Faculty Band:

This year's judges will be also be performing a piece of their own.

Robin Batteau is a Grammy-winning, Emmy-winning, Clio-winning, and
Oscar-nominatedsinger-songwriter-soloist and music producer. Six months
out of Harvard, after earning a degree in biochemistry, he was signed to
his first record deal withColumbia Records. A dozen CDs later, he's played
his personal style of improvisational violin with everyone from Yo-Yo Ma
to Benny Goodman to Bruce Springsteen and has had his songs sung by
Whitney Houston, Judy Collins, and Paul Newman, to name a few.

Adrien Reju's recently released CD, A Million Hearts, has caught her
international acclaim. Two pieces from the CD have been placed in the
Hallmark movie "Flower Girl" which is now playing on the Hallmark Movie
Channel. Recently she was awarded 2nd Place Overall Winner and Winner of
the Pop/Adult Contemporary category for "When the Curtain Falls" in the
100% Music Songwriting Contest and a finalist in the 2009 New York
Songwriters' Circle Songwriting Competition for "When the CurtainFalls".
As a member of the Angel Band and The David Bromberg Big Band, Adrien had
the opportunity to sing and share the stage with a number oflegendary
performers, including Linda Rondstadt (back-up singer) Gillian Welch&
David Rawlings (duet), Peter Rowan & Tony Rice and Ralph Stanley.

Craig D'Andrea is one of the younger faces you will find on the acoustic
guitar scene. A residentof Greenwich and a Greenwich High School graduate,
Craig has been receiving support from fans and critics alike since
releasing his debut album Crazy is Catching on CandyRat Records in March
of 2007. The release of his album, along with his title of 2007 Canadian
Fingerstyle Champion, has given him the chance to tour in the United
States and Canada respected artists Andy McKee, Don Ross, Antoine Dufour
and Peter Ciluzzi.
