Greenwich Has Got Talent: Variety Show 2009's first two casting calls are set for Thursday August 20 and Thursday September 3, from 7-10 PM(both days) at the Cole Auditorium at Greenwich Library. The event is being held October 16 & 17 with 7:30 PM performances in Greenwich and is sponsored by the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce. A portion of the proceeds will go toward funding a scholarship for a Greenwich High School student who will major in Business in college. .To sign up to audition on either night, please call Maria at 570-7021 or email mksproductions1@yahoo.com. Those auditioning should bring their own audio including CD's, etc.
The event is chaired by Leah Mattoni, Market Manager for People's United Bank;Jeff Weber, Executive VP of the Business TalkRadio Network, owners of WGCH Radio;and Scott Weiner, General Manager of Roto Rooter Services Company. Numerous volunteers from the chamber will be assisting in the implementation of the variety show while various businesses from the community have already stepped up to sponsor Greenwich Has Got Talent as well.
"Our event is really taking shape," said Leah Mattoni, one of the event's co-chairs. "There is so much talent in the area and this will be a tremendous opportunity for them to be showcased."
Scott Weiner, another co-chair, added, "This is a family friendly event that you'll either want to be a part of--or come watch."
