The sun struggled to shine through the clouds, but that was good enough for the nearly two dozen people who gathered at Greenwich Point on Wednesday morning for a rare cosmic blessing, recited once every 28 years.

Talk on moving beyond pesticides
Jay Feldman, executive director of Beyond Pesticides, a Washington, D. C.-based nonprofit, will discuss "Moving Toward a Toxic Free Community -- Going Beyond Pesticides" at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Garden Education Center, 130 Bible St.

Feldman will address opportunities for taking steps to eliminate toxic pesticide use in the management of land areas, homes and buildings, according to organizers.

A reception is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The event is co-sponsored by Audubon Greenwich.
