12/27/08 THUNDER COLT'S REAL ESTATE REPORT ----- MY NEW HOME IN CONNETICUT : Conyers Farm Ghosts - Mostly Good

AN 1900 -1905 BUILT EQUESTRIAN SET UP : ENGLISH TUDOR HOME THAT LOOKS KIND OF LIKE A CASTLE: THE FACADE IS IN STONE AND BRICK :

LOOKS VERY SPOOKY:

We Moved in last week of November after I had lived in North Carolina for 10yrs now due to work (That still is.. But in a Different Place Now) ....

I moved North with my NEW Fiancee Sylvie (If you Read her pub Story you know who Im talking about) and my now full time living with me daughter Jazzmine. We had moved North for numerous Reasons : Family (Mine and Her's live nearer to here that NC), Her Work (She was transfered and with my Job I can live just about anywhere without hassle as long as I turn up to Race), My Daughter (for Her Schooling and to be close to her Mom's Family ) and of course the biggest suprise for me to date... We'd need more room as our Little family would have a Extra Addition in June. So we needed a Nursery. (Which for the last 2 weeks Ive been busy decorating....

Proud Papa thats me.). We found this Home online at Unique Homes .com... Same place I found my Last Home. And went to see it Early November. And bought it the next day. So Our history there begins. Im used to ghosts and this place is old...

But I didnt think that it could be a possibility. That this place was haunted too....

Oh boy was I in for a Suprise!! I should know better than to doubt the spirit world. They spring suprises on you when you least expect it!!

SHORT VERSION OF HOUSE HISTORY FOR YOU HISTORIANS HERE:

Between 1900 and 1905 by the Stanley Family (Rich Virginian Farmers who settled North in Retirement). They lived there until 1925 when the last one surviving of the 11 Children they had sold the house after their parents Died in 1921 and 1925 respectfully. It was then bought by the MacEllis Family who owned it until the Second World War.

When it was sold and used as a Nursing Home for Returning Soldiers who were injured in Battle. After the War the home was retored back to its former Home Glory but was sold 15 times in a Matter of 20 yrs. In the 1960's it was Turned into a Hippy Commune and the last 16th of the Property (Back Paddock was sold off to become what is now a part of a golf course) It belonged to the Hippies until about 1975 when most of the back of the Home was destroyed in a Massive Fire.

The Home was Bought out and restored by a Distant relation of the Rockerfellers a guy by the name of Hubert Wilker . Who funny restored the Home to its former glory for the second time in its odd life. And he also added stables, Riding Arena. Swimming Pool and the TWO Tennis Courts. Which all still stand today and are in full use. Hubert Died from Lung Cancer in 1987. And the Property was passed on to his only living relative a Nephew called Alfred who was in his 50's. Alfred lived there with his Wife, Mistress (In the Top Floor his wife didnt mind apparently) and both ladies Children totally 14 all together ...

10 of which were his. He died in 1998. And his wife and Mistress both shared the house until his Mistress Died of Unknown Health problems in 2001. His wife Moved to Florida. The House since 2001 until we bought the house in November had been passed through several hands again being sold some 14 times before we bought it.All these Short Term owners I am currently trying to find details on.. But as for resons of Ghosts...

Several People passed on here in the Houses History. Maybe some of them decided to stay on a while. I dont mind they are all interesting in their own way and add character to the house.
