At a special parents meeting Tuesday evening, one day before school began, close to 50 Hamilton Avenue parents were assured by Superintendent of Schools Betty Sternberg and Bob Brown, director of industrial hygiene for Hygenix, that the classrooms are safe. Mr. Brown and Ty Tregellas of Turner Construction detailed how the classrooms were cleaned and what steps were taken to not only get rid of existing mold, but prevent it from recurring.
