Members of the Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol are selling raffle tickets on street corners, car washes and at other hubs in town to raise money to replace their foundering and aged utility truck.

The utility truck, which responds to accidents on a regular basis, is 17 years old and sometimes doesn't start, said Joseph Kaliko, a member of the Fire Police Patrol, which provides traffic control and security at fire and other emergency scenes. Members also salvage property from damaged homes.....

...
The newly designed truck would be able to carry up to six firefighters, transporting more volunteers to the scene of fires and other emergencies, Kaliko said.

The Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, directs traffic and provides security at emergency scenes and specializes in rescuing property from fire damaged homes.

NOTE:

They also will sell tickets from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 26, and May 3, at Porricelli's Food Mart at 26 Arcadia Road, and at the 625 West Putnam Ave. and 73 Post Road locations of Splash Car Wash.
