The Greenwich Police Department is urging all town residents to stay off the roads during Monday's snowstorm. This will allow Department of Public Works crews to do their job of clearing the roadways in a safe and efficient manner.

Greenwich Police Advise Drivers 'To Stay Off the Road'

"This will allow DPW to do their job of clearing the roadway in a safe and efficient manner," police said in a statement Monday morning. "The Greenwich Public schools are closed and the Greenwich First Selectman has deemed it necessary to delay the opening of Town Hall today until 11 a.m.," police said.

Greenwich Schools Announce Changes to Monday's Schedule

As heavy snow and sleet continue to fall in the region, all Greenwich Public and private schools announced Monday morning that they are closed for the day. In addition, Malloy has ordered a delayed opening for state offices on Monday, Feb. 2,, and is directing nonessential state employees to report to work at 10 a.m. Today : Snow and freezing rain before 2pm, then snow, freezing rain, and sleet between 2pm and 4pm, then a chance of snow after 4pm.

Tom Foley says future plans include GOP fundraising

The Hartford Courant reports that the Greenwich businessman was in Hartford recently to announce a new executive director for a policy think tank he created and greet some friends. Foley said that since the election he lost to Gov. Dannel P. Malloy , he has been spending more time on his business ventures, including Stevens Aviation Inc., an airline services company he has owned for more than 25 years.

Middle School Squash Team At Greenwich's Sacred Heart Wins National Title

Convent of the Sacred Heart's middle school squash team won the 2015 U.S. Middle School national championship last month at Yale University. The team won their first of four matches against St. Luke's School of New Canaan, 4-1, followed by a 4-1 win against Shipley of Philadephia.
