More than 175 people attended Friday's benefit for Cos Cob native and 1980 Greenwich High School graduate Marc Gangi and his family. There were 125 golfers and at least another 50 who attended the dinner that followed the benefit golf tournament held Oct. 10 at the Whitney Farms Golf Course in Monroe, according to family friend Fred Camillo of Old Greenwich, who also helped organize the benefit.

14-Year-Old Girl Charged With Assaulting Detectives In Stamford

A 14-year-old girl turned into a terror for a pair of Greenwich detectives, who were scratched and spit at by the out-of-control teen when they went to pick her up on a Stamford juvenile court warrant Wednesday morning, Stamford police said. The two female detectives learned the girl was at a residence on Custer Street in Stamford and went there on a "take into custody order" shortly before 10 a.m. However, the teen had different ideas and began acting aggressively, spitting, flailing her arms and striking the detectives, police said.

Fall Family Festival, Scarecrow Competition Comes To Greenwich

The Greenwich Historical Society presents its traditional Fall Festival, sponsored by The First Bank of Greenwich, on Sunday, Oct. 12, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Bush-Holley Historic Site, at 39 Strickland Road.
