Dear Greenwich Roundup, A failed $862 billion stimulus plan. New taxes. Burdensome regulations. Washington's economic policies are making things worse, not better. It's time for something different. When Ronald Reagan was President, the country experienced the greatest economic expansion in American history. Reagan's plan focused on the basics: reduce tax rates across the board, reduce regulations and mandates on businesses, restore sound government finances, and restore sound money by keeping inflation low and the dollar strong. It's time to get back to basics, and this plan contains the policies I will fight for in the U.S. Senate. With the help of my Chief Economic Adviser, Dr. John Rutledge, "one of the principal architects of the Reagan economic plan in 1980-81," I have put together a plan to put Connecticut back to work. My plan is built on the premise that people create jobs, not governments. Instead of growing government, we need to give families and small businesses incentives to work, save and invest. Please take a look at my plan. It's available on my website or by clicking here. I have lived the American Dream, but the American Dream today is under siege. I want to be able to pass to our children and grandchildren the same opportunities I had. We can do that together, but we have to get back to the basics. Sincerely, P.S. Please send this email to five of your friends. We need to start working to bring common sense reform to Washington today. P.P.S.
