Rob Simmons is at it again... Now he's attacking Linda McMahon for not being fluent in Chinese. Guilty as charged. Linda doesn't speak Chinese. But fluency in Mandarin isn't the top issue on the minds of Connecticut voters. Economic recovery and job creation are top issues, as are federal spending and debt. Linda McMahon entered the race for U.S. Senate on a promise to bring common sense and real world business experience to Washington. She understands what it takes to get this country back on track: We can't spend our way to prosperity. We can't borrow our way into the black. And our economy can't recover until Washington gets out of the way. To Linda, that's just common sense. And Rob Simmons? He kicked off his campaign for Senate in March 2009, just a few months after he announced to a group of Connecticut small business owners: "I am not a business guy. I'm a government guy." In six years in Washington, Rob partnered with liberal Democrats to support job killing proposals like cap-and-trade and card check. He supported 370 bills that increased spending, and only 13 that cut spending. He voted twice to increase the debt ceiling by a total of $1.25 trillion. After he was voted out of Congress, Rob became Business Advocate for the state of Connecticut. Under his tenure, not only did the state fail to create new jobs, it actually lost jobs. With a 9.7% unemployment rate, Washington needs a Senator like Linda who has actually created jobs -- more than 500 jobs right here in Connecticut. Perhaps there's a province in China that could use a 'government guy' like Rob.
Support Linda McMahon because it's time for a different kind of Senator. Sincerely, Linda McMahon for Senate 2010 |
