Linda McMahon For Senate

Go to the new Linda2010.comDear Greenwich Roundup,

It's been quite a week in Connecticut's race for U.S. Senate.

Linda started the week on Sunday with a much-anticipated appearance on WFSB's Face the State.

On Tuesday, Scott Brown's historic come-from-behind win reframed the Connecticut Senate race and had political pundits rethinking Dick Blumenthal's aura of invincibility.

Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer commented: "I think the effect of Massachusetts is going to show that even in New England, this seat is not safe [for Democrats and Blumenthal]."

Wednesday, Linda unveiled a new, state-of-the-art website. The Hartford Courant, observes that the new Linda2010.com "looks great and is easy to navigate, with lots of multi-media bells and whistles," including a section dedicated to Linda's positions on a broad swath of issues.

On Thursday, Linda was a guest on ABC's The View, and this coming Sunday, she will appear on WVIT's Connecticut Newsmakers, which airs at 6 a.m. on Sunday, January 24th, on Channel 30 NBC affiliate.

But Linda isn't the only U.S. Senate candidate making news.

Rob Simmons this week, shockingly, refused to retract a 2006 endorsement he gave to a Massachusetts health care plan that The Wall Street Journal says "bears an uncanny resemblance to ObamaCare."

Instead, he reiterated support for the this plan, despite a new study that finds insurance costs in Massachusetts have skyrocketed at least 21% faster than the U.S. average, and employer-sponsored premiums there are higher than in any other state.

A new poll finds that, by a 2-to-1 margin, Connecticut voters oppose taxing people who don't have health insurance, but that's exactly what the Simmons-backed 'individual mandate' would do.

Conservative columnist Kim Strassel, writing in The Wall Street Journal, notes that "Republicans and independents despise the mandate, with many believing it is downright unconstitutional." Says Strassel: "The program has bombed, creating giant costs while realizing minimal benefits. A big reason only 25% of Massachusetts voters strongly approve of ObamaCare is because of this experience."

Linda believes that ObamaCare is the wrong health care solution for America. She opposes the plan because it drives up health care costs, it cuts Medicare on seniors, it increases premiums on the middle class and it puts government bureaucrats between doctors and patients. She believes that before we can truly reform health care, we have to reduce costs, and that is why she supports common sense reforms.

Washington is in chaos and it's clear voters want leaders with an outside perspective and real world business experience.

Since announcing her candidacy for U.S. Senate, Linda has attended nearly 250 events all around the state and more than 10,000 volunteers have signed up to support her campaign.

Linda is clearly the candidate with momentum in this race.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,
Linda
