Safe Rides team leader, Eliza Rudd, 17, fields between 10 and 15 calls every Friday and Saturday night by teens looking for a safe and sober ride home.
Connecticut Health of Greenwich resident Marie Zimbalatti, looks forward to St. Patrick's Day every year.
"I like the way they dance and everything. They are so jolly," the 80-plus-year-old resident said of the Irish. She was one of more than 30 residents who gathered Sunday in the main room at the nursing home on King Street for the annual ice cream social to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
"It's a kick off to St. Patrick's Day," said Eva Astrom, therapeutic recreation director. "I think it's a great thing to do."
If there was ever a time to harness the luck of the Irish, Tuesday would be it for those clamoring for a new fire station on King Street.
Town nets land deal
As if the local real estate market wasn't soft already, one 4.35-acre piece of prime land off Lake Avenue in Greenwich is about to change hands for a measly $1,000.

Library offering career workshops Greenwich Library, 101 W. Putnam Ave., is offering a series of workshops in March, "Focus on Careers," to help job seekers in the recession.
