DISORDERLY

A 52-year-old Riverside man was arrested Dec. 21 and charged with disorderly conduct after an alleged domestic violence incident. Police responding to a reported incident were met with the woman who had called them. She alleged that after returning home from buying groceries, her husband had approached her in a violent manner, yelling and screaming at her and forcefully removing her from the car. She told police that the man pushed her head against the roof of the car before she was able to run inside and call police. The man reportedly told police that he had confronted his wife because he believed she had been drinking and driving, and claimed he never hit her. Police reports state that officers observed the man to be in an “extremely agitated state” and that he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. The woman did not appear to be under any influence of alcohol, they said. The man was released at the scene on a promise to appear and told by officers not to return to the home or have any contact with his wife. The man was due in court Dec. 22.
