05/13/08 - Next the Town Services Committee Will Be Asking About The Scores Of Free Newspapers That Employees Pass Out In Town Hall With A Hand Truck

Supplying town employees with free coffee and bottled water in the workplace costs Greenwich taxpayers about $46,000 yearly - more than just beans for some in elected office....

....Audience members laughed last night when Evan Delman, the Town Services Committee chairman, mentioned that spending on bottle water particularly was being scruntinized.

"We were told that the water fountains in the Town Hall provided brown, distasteful water," Delman said. "We checked it afterward and it was fine."...
