Story:

The Representative Town Meeting gave its blessing last night to the town's Community Development Block Grant application for 2008, paving the way for 21 organizations such as Kids in Crisis and the Transportation Association of Greenwich to share $1 million in anticipated federal aid.
An advisory committee of community leaders recommended the organizations and programs to the RTM, which voted 179 to 0 with one abstention to authorize the first selectman to receive the grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Board of Selectmen had already approved the list, which is broken down into public service programs and building rehabilitation or acquisition projects.
The Housing Authority of the Town of Greenwich is slated to receive $400,953 to replace the windows at the moderate income apartment complex McKinney Terrace II in the western part of town, the single largest grant recommended.....
