A Norwalk man wanted in connection with an identity theft investigation was returned to Connecticut Tuesday after the Las Vegas police's fugitive squad found him in Nevada after he fled from arrest, police said.
Connecticut's swimming water quality ranks in the top 25 percent in the country, but the state's saltwater beaches still close more than 100 times a year, mostly due to polluted storm water.

READER SUBMITTED COMMENTS: Reverse Racism is hijacking our culture and our heritage
The Two Wrongs Make a Right Thesis goes like this: Because some Whites once enslaved some Blacks, the decedents of those slaves, some of whom may now enjoy high incomes and social status, have a right to opportunities and offices over better qualified Whites who had nothing to do with either slavery or the oppression of Blacks, and who may even have suffered hardship comparable to that of poor Blacks. In addition, Strong Affirmative Action creates a new Hierarchy of the Oppressed: Blacks get primary preferential treatment, women second, Native Americans third, Hispanics fourth, Handicapped fifth, and Asians sixth and so on until White males, no matter how needy or well qualified, must accept the left-overs. Naturally, combinations of oppressed classes (e.g., a one eyed, Black Hispanic female) trump all single classifications. The equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment becomes reinterpreted as "Equal protection for all equals, but some equals are more equal than others."

The three Republicans running for Connecticut governor are preparing for a debate in New London that will be televised live.
When Michael Fedele's family arrived on the shores of the United States when he was 3 years old, they had virtually nothing.

07/27/10 Tom Foley Says, "I Won The Debate !!!!!"

Tom Foley for Governor’s Statement on Last Nights’s Debate

Yesterday the Republican candidates for Governor of Connecticut participated in a debate hosted by the New London Day, WNTH News 8 and WCTX MyTV9. Tom Foley for Governor Campaign Manager Justin Clark released the following statement after the debate:

“Tonight Tom distinguished himself as the only candidate in the race for governor with a credible plan to balance the budget without raising taxes. Tom is also the only candidate who is not part of the Hartford establishment, and who did not get us into the mess we are in today.

Thanks to the New London Day, the Garde, and Channels 8 and 9 for organizing a great debate and allowing the public to hear Tom’s message. His superior performance tonight solidifies the fact that he is the best candidate to represent the Republicans in the general election, and he looks forward to victories on August 10th and in November.”

07/28/10 GREENWICH BRIEFING: White Folks: Hard time with prostitutes

This Just Into The Greenwich Roundup Newsroom.......

Oprah may or may not have spent part of her teen years prostituting, as the NATIONAL ENQUIRER reports. This is a big story - for white folks. People of color might just shrug it off as just another thing someone might do to survive or get through a phase. In addition, those with genuine insight into the human condition such as comic Lenny Bruce usually figure that we are as good or as bad as we can afford to be, at the time.

At a 12-step meeting in Greenwich, Connecticut, a person of color was isolated. The white members gossiped that horrors she had been a hooker in her substance-abusing days. They rarely looked at themselves and their own sins of commission such as embezzling and sins of omission such as not getting a promotion in their own days of wine and roses. The past is not prologue. Often it's just that: the past.

Here is my novel THE FAT GUY FROM GREENWICH which peeks into life on the Gold Coast of Connecticut.

McMahon meets with town seniors
McMahon meets with town seniors (Connecticut Post)
After U.S. Senate candidate Linda McMahon 's mother, Evelyn Carson , 83, moved to Greenwich from North Carolina nine years ago, she would often come to the town's Senior Center to play bridge.
With pressure mounting for the town to right the wrong that resulted from the late mailing of property tax bill bills, a rare three-week extension was granted Monday for home and business owners to pay.
The three Republican candidates for governor are preparing for Wednesday night's debate in New London.
