10/15/11 Occupy Greenwich: Get Out And Do Something In Greenwich Today

Old Greenwich School will hold its annual Pumpkin Patch fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 15. The fall festival includes a haunted house, hay maze, games for all ages, bouncy slide and much more.

The Connecticut Freemasons Acacia Lodge #85 is holding an open house for local residents to learn about Freemasonry from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Byram Archibald Neighborhood Center, 289 Delevan Ave. Anyone is welcome to visit. There will be refreshments, tours of our facility, and much more.

Audubon Greenwich will host a trip to the Hook Mountain Hawk Watch from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 15. Travel with Audubon Greenwich to this mountaintop viewpoint across the Hudson with excellent hawk watching and spectacular views across the autumn landscape. The trip involves a moderate half-mile hike uphill. Bring binoculars, hat, sunscreen, lunch, water bottle, hiking shoes. Ages 8 and up. Price is $15 per person. The New Lebanon PTA will hold a tag sale Oct. 15 at New Lebanon School. Donations can be dropped off either Tuesday or Thursday between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m.

Community Answers will present “An evening of Comedy @ The Cole” Oct. 15 at the Greenwich Library Cole Auditorium. The event will include Cory Kahaney, Brian Scott McFadden & Rodney Laney, comics from the Gotham Comedy Club in New York City. This year’s MC is town resident Gary Lico, president and CEO of CABLEready and a 30-year veteran of broadcasting industry. Audubon Greenwich will host a “Farm-To-Table” dinner party from 6 to 10 p.m. Oct. 15 at the historic Ketay-Asnes Barn at the Audubon center, located at 613 Riverville Road. The event will showcase local organic farms, seasonal meals, and sustainably-managed vineyards. The evening will include wine education from the Wine Institute of New England, live music by trio Jealous Dog, and an auction of small items to benefit Audubon’s conservation and education initiatives. The ONS Foundation for Clinical Research and Education will present a one-day conference on pediatric and adolescent sports medicine from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 15 in the Noble Conference Center at Greenwich Hospital, located at 5 Perryridge Road. The half-day program, aimed at aimed at professionals, physical and occupational therapists, athletic trainers and coaches, will feature presentations by orthopedic, sports medicine and neurosurgery specialists. Greenwich Hospital Association is accredited to provide continuing education credit for physicians who attend. The conference is free of charge. Lunch and program materials are included.
