Felix Andreoni has signed a contract for his company to clean properties belonging to the Greenwich Housing Authority.

Cleansweep, owned and operated by Greenwich resident Felix Andreoni, has signed a contract with the Housing Authority to clean five of the town’s facilities: Agnes Morley Heights Apartments, Town Hall Annex, Greenwich Close Apartments, Armstrong Court Toddler Center and Armstrong Court Daycare Center.

Mr. Andreoni has more than 30 years of experience in the cleaning industry. Cleansweep already serves the New Canaan Nature Center and Greenwich Adult Day Care at The River House in Greenwich.

Pepe steps up to assistant role at Western

Jarret Pepe, an eighth grade social studies teacher, a staff development coach and a learning facilitator and team leader for the eighth grade staff at Western Middle School, has been named assistant principal there. He takes over for Michael J. Marotto, who after 19 years at Western is the new Weston High School assistant principal.

“As a current member of our staff, he has keen understanding of, and experience with, the Western Middle School community of students, teachers and parents,” said Principal Stacey Gross of Mr. Pepe. “He is adept at assessing data and utilizing this information to influence educational programming. As a member of the Western Middle School Strategic Improvement Team, Jarret has assisted in the development of a School Improvement Plan that focuses on increasing the achievement and the social emotional learning of all students.”


Police Watch

The following are released arrests from Aug. 19:
WARRANT

Katie Mudry, 28, of 10 Boyd Lane, Riverside, was arrested Aug. 14 on a warrant. She was charged with breach of peace stemming from a dispute on Greenwich Avenue on May 22. Mudry was released on a promise to appear in court today.

IDENTITY THEFT

John L. Coloma, 30, of 60 Wilbur Peck Court was arrested on a warrant Aug. 7 and charged with six counts of illegal use of a credit card, five counts of receiving goods from a credit card, six counts of larceny in the sixth degree and six counts of criminal impersonation, all misdemeanors, and five counts of identity theft in the third degree, a felony. Police responded to a complaint from a Chinese food restaurant regarding fraudulent use of a credit card. Officers confirmed the fraud and investigations revealed Coloma had been ordering food for delivery using stolen credit card numbers. The credit card customers, residing worldwide, were not aware of the fraudulent activity until notified by police. Coloma was released on a $1,000 bond and was due in court Aug. 15.

THREATENING

A 21-year-old Greenwich man was arrested Aug. 18 and charged with threatening, disorderly conduct and assault in the third degree after police were called to the scene of a domestic dispute between him and his girlfriend that had turned physical. The man’s girlfrield told police he pushed her to the ground and punched her in the back of the head multiple times. He then held a knife to his own throat and threatened her with the knife. Police said the man was also in violation of a protective order. He was released on a $5,000 bond and was due in court Aug. 18.

BREACH OF PEACE
William Panashida, 77, of Seminole, Fla., was arrested Aug. 17 and charged with threatening and breach of peace after neighbors told police he threatened them in the driveway. When police arrived, officers found Panashida sitting and talking to his neighbors while waving a large kitchen knife. Police said he was intoxicated and immediately disarmed him. Police determined Panashida was angry about the parking situation and talking in a threatening way to the 18-year-old daughter of his neighbor. Police said while officers were at the scene, Panashida was yelling about illegal immigrants and their illegally registered cars. He was released on a $10,000 bond and is due in court Aug. 25.
