The popular Bruce Museum Outdoor Arts Festival, which takes place on the grounds of the Museum, is a juried event featuring more than 85 artists from 20 different states across the country. Paintings, drawings, original prints, mixed media pieces, sculpture and photography are all available for purchase directly from the artists.

From 12 noon to 4 pm both days there will be live music by the band Ubuntu, a rootsy rock ensemble, as well as classical solo guitarists Ed Wright and Annalisa Ewald. A children’s drawing contest and family art activities are offered free inside the Museum, and a variety of food choices will be available outside. At 2 pm both days, pastel artist Carol Boucher will give a pastel drawing demonstartion and will invite audience participation. Her booth is set up right in front of the Museum entrance.

Police investigate domestic incident on Hamilton Avenue

A domestic incident at a Hamilton Avenue residence Friday escalated and resulted in an individual making threatening statements to other family members, according to police. The officers investigating the incident treated it as a potential armed barricade, police said. No one was injured in the incident. Police said they have arrested a suspect and full details will be available Monday.

10/01/11 Greenwich Wine Society's Upcoming Wine Tasting, 'Barnyard Sale' on October 5th To Benefit Friends Of Autistic People

Friends of Austistic People is honored to be chosen by the Greenwich Wine Society to receive 50% of the proceeds of their first charity wine tasting event scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 5. The festivities begin at 6 p.m. at the Greenwich Garden Education Center on Bible Street.

Organizers report that this event “is highly affordable, great fun and for a very good cause: to raise funds for a Farm Academy to help grown children/young adults with autism.”

There will be hors d'oeuvres (courtesy of Whole Foods and Plum Catering, fine Chilean wine (courtesy of Casas Patronales and Val's), live guitar music, door prizes, a virtual “Barnyard Sale” and more.
