HARTFORD -- A New York company has been fined $50,000 for misleading consumers who thought the proceeds from sales of their clothing donations were going to local charities including midget football and local police unions.....

.....Charities made between $200 and $700 a year for allowing the metal clothing drops to include their logos.....

... organizations to set up collection bins in towns including Darien, Derby, Greenwich, Milford, Norwalk, Orange, Oxford, Seymour, Stamford and Trumbull....
