Malloy appears for arraignment
Stamford Times
STAMFORD -- Mayor Dannel Malloy's second-born son appeared at state Superior Court in Stamford for arraignment Tuesday to have his case transferred upstairs, where more serious matters are tried.
Benjamin Malloy, 21, of 277 Ocean Drive East in Stamford, signed a court order to transfer his case to Part A.
Accompanied by his mother, Kathy, Director of Legal Affairs for the City of Stamford, Thomas Cassone and attorney Robert Bello, Malloy -- dressed in a beige suit jacket, slacks and sneakers -- quickly exited the courtroom after his arraignment and offered no comment on his way out.
In November of 2007, he was arrested by Greenwich police for numerous drug charges including possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana with intent ...
....The charges stem from a March 3 incident in which Malloy, along with two of his friends -- 20-year-old Michael Krepak and a 17-year-old Stamford resident -- allegedly attempted to steal two grams of marijuana from 19-year-old Eric Sing by sticking what appeared to be pistols in his face.
According to the affidavit, Malloy brandished an unloaded silver pellet gun when he demanded Sing, "give (him) the weed." Police executed a search warrant and recovered BB's in Malloy's bedroom. A black, .22 caliber blank gun belonging to the 17-year-old was also recovered by police. This is Malloy's second arrest in a span of two years.
In November of 2007, he was arrested by Greenwich police for numerous drug charges including possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana with intent to sell. Malloy was given a second chance in 2008, when he was granted entrance into the Accelerated Rehabilitation program, which would have dismissed those charges had he completed a two-year probationary period. ....
