The Greenwich Exchange for Women’s Work 2008 Christmas Fair will be held at the Round Hill Club on Round Hill Club Road, Greenwich on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday, Nov. 13, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
For this festive event the Round Hill Club is transformed into a holiday wonderland with 25 guest consignors in addition to the merchandise from the Exchange. Visitors will find children’s and adult sweaters, clothing and accessories, purses, jewelry, lots of Christmas decorations, fine art, home goods, blankets, throws, vintage linens, unique gifts, gourmet gift foods, monogrammed gifts for people and pets, collectible Santa ornaments and fully decorated lighted Christmas trees. Admission and parking are free. Lunch is available both days in the Grill Room at the Club.
The Greenwich Exchange for Women’s Work is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support the art of hand-crafted items by providing a market place for talented artisans-consignors. Our 200+ consignors receive 67% of the selling price, with the remaining 33% used by the Exchange for operating expenses and local charitable contributions. The Exchange is managed by a volunteer board of directors who also volunteer alongside the staff in the shop year-round and at the Christmas Fair.
The Exchange has been doing business in Greenwich since 1901 and has been at the current location, 28 Sherwood Place, a historical house, since 1935. The shop features handmade gifts, babies’ and children’s clothes, toys and accessories, antiques and collectibles, vintage linens, gourmet frozen foods, gift foods, ladies accessories, jewelry and many unusual one-of-a kind items, as most of the shop’s merchandise is made by people in their homes all across the United States and consigned to the shop for sale.
