03/19/10 Storm Puts Stress On First Selectman Peter Tesei's Office After A Week Of Calaminity
03/19/10 Greenwich Public Schools Will be Open on Monday!
site message:
Schools will be OPEN
and buses will run a regular schedule on
Monday, March 22, 2010.
Please continue to check the web site throughout the weekend
for possible updates on bus routes and/or other important information.
The Greenwich Police Department has advised us that some debris may remain
on walks to school or to bus stops. We join the Town in asking you to walk
with your children this weekend on a 'dry run' of the path that they take
to school or to the bus stop to ensure that they have safe passage - to
avoid any debris that may still exist - or - to plan an alternate route if
necessary. Please advise your children not to play in or around piles of
debris and to continue to avoid any downed wires. If you are eligible for
bus service, we strongly encourage you to have your children take the bus.
Also, please let the appropriate staff know if your child needs any
additional support due to this past week's events.
District officials are discussing the impact to the school calendar and
how best to make up the instructional days lost due to this storm and the
two snow days.
The Board of Education will make that determination at its meeting on
March 25, 2010 at Julian Curtiss School.
Thank you all for your incredible patience and
cooperation during this emergency situation.
