Dirty Dish Towel Asks, "Do You Want A piece ?"

To the Editor,

In reference to Susie Costaregni, also known as the Fabulous Used Dish Towel, popping up..

Anyone ever play "Where's Waldo"? Let's play "Where's Joe"? I mean Joe Pisani. If Susie is back, her dad/english teacher/personal life instructor/boy friend must be too! Where are you Joey?

Joe's supposed to be in NYC working at marketing firm. His days of chief editor are ended a year ago. Yet he can't seem to cut the apron string (or is it the Dish's G String), so he writes for simplistic web sites like "My Greenwich" which isn't worth a second look. Then there's that occasional column in the Greenwich Post, where Joe tries to pat himself on the back while commenting on the moral demise of mankind....yeah, Joe must be a better man than every other man alive!!!! He certainly lives a stellar life. LOL. Hey, if Joe lives in Orange CT, why the heck is he all the way down here in Greenwich?

Geez, we got more REAL LIFE DRAMA than we need, without the likes of Sleaz Monger Susie and Joe.

Hey Joe, can't you take a hint and take your cutie pie with you? Get lost!!!

And that's all for now.

I Am Sure That Chris Fountain At The For What It's Worth Blog Is Equally Shocked That Susie Is BAAAAAACK At The Greenwich Time:
Freedom of the Press
Imagine that you had once worked as a real editor of a real newspaper, or that your father had founded a real newspaper and handed its reins over to you. Now imagine that you've ended your editing career with, or transformed your inheritance into, a light-weight vehicle for advertising and nothing more. Bummer, no?With that in mind, I'm happy to announce that my former paper, The Greenwich Post, has bravely faced down the scorn and ire of its advertisers and will, beginning September 18th, begin running Susie Costaregni's gossip column, "The Dish", every week! The public be damned, we're going to print what must be told. Right on, guys. Here's a taste of what the hard-hitting Dish will be serving up:

Greenwich residents Frank Gifford, the former NFL star and sports commentator, and Olympic gold medal swimmer Donna de Varona were seen having lunch at Valbella restaurant in Old Greenwich this past week; Regis Philbin and friends were spotted dining there Saturday, Jan. 20; and actor Jesse Bradford of "Swimfan" and "Flags of Our Fathers" fame ate there last week. And . . . at Valbella New York on West 13th Street, recent Golden Globe-winning actress and producer Salma Hayek of the popular sitcom "Ugly Betty" was seen having dinner.
And this:

Among the 300 friends, colleagues and dignitaries, including her favorite security guard, at the party were Randy Jones of the Village People; celebrity photographer James Edstrom; Fox News legal analyst Lis Wiehl and attorney Michael Sherman; MSNBC anchors Contessa Brewer, Alison Stewart and Chris Jansing; NBC anchor Carl Quintanilla; Lisa Bloom and Diane Dimond of Court TV; and actor Bobby Abid. Boyfriend and singer/songwriter Tomaczek Bednarek wrote a song for the occasion, "You Make the News." Cosby isn't taking a break. This week, she hosted a two-hour radio show on Sirius satellite radio. She heads to her alma mater, the University of South Carolina, next week to teach for a day. Then she travels to the Middle East, where she will speak at a conference.
No need to worry about the future of this paper now, that's for sure.

Dear Editor,
Can anyone explain Susie Costaregi's column "The Dish 2" in The Greenwich Post?????
What is its point? Does anyone care about these imaginary star sightings? And if the Greenwich Post is a community newspaper, although a poor one, why is Susie's SCENE SUDDENLY NEW YORK????
WHO IS INTERESTED IN this TEENBEAT-TYPE HYPE????
Why does the Town of Greenwich have to read Susie Costaregri's usless crap? Why do certain weekly newspapers (Hershan/Acorn) give Susie and her father figure-boy-toy, Joe Pisani, page space?
Not only do the two of them bore me by sharing special moments complimenting each other, they share the same imaginary poor writing. I notice some towns, like Darien, got rid of them. Why can't we do that?
I can't tell you how impressed I was to read Diana Ross was seen leaving the Greenwich library. That means WHAT????? That Diana can read?????? That Diana is too cheap to a book?? That the Greenwich Library is a MOTOWN magnet????......

Susie "The Dish" Won't Report About This Little Dinner Party?
It's Time For The Comfortable To Wine Dine And Pocket Line.

Jan and Bob Dilenschneider of Darien recently held a dinner party to introduce George Irish, president of Hearst Newspapers, aka Greenwich Time, Greenwich Citizen, Stamford Advocate, Darien News Review, Norwalk Advocate, Norwalk Citizen News, Connecticut Post etc., etc., etc., ....Give me a break?

We know who George Irish is and we are well aware of his stable of government compliant newspapers.
Among those attending the let's get to know George party were Stamford Mayor Dan Malloy and his wife, Cathy; Mary and Brian Cashman, general manager of the New York Yankees; Judy and Archie Cox, chairman of Barclays Americas; John and Janet Hartwell, head of Greens Farms Academy; Bishop William Lori; Janene and Richard Edlin, senior partner of the law firm Greenberg Traurig; Westport residents Chris and Jim Corgel of IBM; Bob Arnold, head of Family Centers; Judy and Tom McLane, CEO of RSR Partners; Mr. Corvino of Greenwich Hospital; Greenwich residents Nancy and Walter Raquet, CEO of WR Capital Management; Stamford residents Maryann and Jay Chai of J.W. Chai Consultancy; Jim Cabrera, managing partner of Antares; and Greenwich residents Lincoln and Irene Millstein. Mr. Dilenschneider is founder and CEO of The Dilenschneider Group, a global strategic counseling firm headquartered New York City.
Now you know why bad news about Jim Cabrera and Antares is always broken by out of town reporters from out of town newspapers......
.....Is Malloy kissing Hearst Media A$$, because he has something that is going to need a cover up?
When is George Irish going to show up on the streets of Greenwich and meet the real people of Greenwich. maybe George should meet with Hamilton Avenue parents who are repeatedly ignored by Greenwich Time Education Reporter Colin Gustafson......
.....George Irish's failure will be because he reached out and comforted the comfortable in Greenwich. George Irish's failure will be because he did not send Greenwich Time reporters out to report when the weakest members of Greenwich society were being afflicted......

The Greenwich Time Draws A Big Yawn For Re-Hiring The Dish

Hey Readers of the GreenwichRoundup,

It appears some of the FORMERLY FIRED STAMFORD ADVOCATE EMPLOYEES are back in business!!

Susie Costaregni, aka "the Dish" and "the dish 2" has her job back as the local gossiping news hound!

Susie Costaregni's STAR SIGHTINGS in and about Greenwich continue....

In her first "column" back on staff, she is back snooping and reporting the daily mundane grind of Regis and Joy, Kathie Lee Gifford, Harry Connick, and David Letterman.

Man, it was so nice not to read what Regis' and Joy were eating and where they were dining. Can't anyone have a little privacy?

This is one newspaper column I never missed in Susie Costaregni's absence. I mean, who cares what these "stars" are doing in their spare time? Harry Connick has lived in CT for almost 20 years. Do he and his wife, Jill, want Susie dishing up their every move? Is anything private anymore? Can we get the latest on Susie cruising the Greenwich Singles bar scene with Joe in tow?

If Susie is back, where's her mentor/father figure/former English teacher, male companion, boyfriend, JOE PISANI??????? I have to assume not far behind (no pun intended). These two bimbozos seem to travel, eat, write, and savor, every minute together.

Now that the chances of Joe Pisani as Dan Malloy's Press Secretary seem a little far fetched, will we AGAIN have to endure Pisani again as part of the local failing press?

Add Dumb Dan Malloy, and we have the makings of a trashy movie. Maybe the Town of Greenwich should show these people THE DOOR.....maybe collect some non-resident rent on their way out...

03/08/09 More On Those Hot Babes That Came From Lions Of Greenwich Resident Walter Noel

So many starbursts, so little time
Balloon Juice

Obviously, it won’t be possible to chronicle all of the fawning media coverage the various finance world moochers and looters received back when they were still viewed as conquering heroes. But this Vanity Fair piece about Walter Noel’s family is probably representative of the worst of it:

The Noel sisters of Greenwich, Connecticut, are turning tabloid-fodder sister acts (that is, Nicky and Paris Hilton) on their heads. In lieu of dancing on tables, the five Noel women have made a name for themselves by shoring up the virtues of a nearly extinct aristocracy. They’re well educated and well married, and they’re raising a pack of well-behaved, multi-lingual children while keeping their string-bikini figures intact.

The eldest sister, Corina, graduated from Yale and, while raising four daughters, works alongside her Colombian husband, Andrés Piedrahita, at the London office of the Fairfield Greenwich Group, an international hedge fund founded by Walter Noel. Lisina, a Georgetown graduate, met Yanko Della Schiava, an Italian alumnus of Aiglon College, in Saint-Tropez. She married him, and he now works at the Lugano, Switzerland, office of the Noel-family hedge fund. Ariane followed Lisina to Georgetown and Corina to London with her husband, Marco Sodi, an Italian who works for the Veronis Suhler Stevenson media-investment firm. Alix went to Brown and later married Philip Toub, an alumnus of Deerfield Academy and Middlebury College, who now works at the family office in Rio. Marisa, an all-American in lacrosse, graduated from Harvard after serving as president of its Hasty Pudding Club. She met Matt Brown, her fiancé, through Alix and Philip, and—surprise—he works not for the Noel-family hedge fund but for his own.

The Noel sisters—with not a divorce or scandale among them—seem to have heeded the wisdom of their grandmother Trudy Haegler, who once wrote up her own 10 commandments for the family’s future brides, including: “Make your husband believe that he is your Lord and Master, no matter what the feminists say”.....

....And the enterprise that funded all the Brazilian nannies and houses in Palm Beach and Park Avenue and Southampton? You can probably guess.

Mr. Noel’s firm, including four sons-in-law as partners, now has the distinction of being the biggest known loser in the Madoff scandal, to the tune of $7.5 billion.

The Fairfield Greenwich Group charged clients an annual fee of 1 percent of assets invested for providing access to exclusive hedge funds and performing due diligence on them, in addition to a fee of 20 percent on investment gains each year, according to people close to the fund’s operations. At that rate, an investment of $7 billion would have paid Mr. Noel’s company $70 million annually, and then $140 million more in a year in which Mr. Madoff reported a 10 percent gain (he steadily reported returns of 10 to 12 percent)......
THE ONLY QUESTION LEFT IS......
Why Isn't Walter And His Faboulous Daughters Under Arrest?

Lets Take Politics Out Of Police Promotions In Greenwich

Fight over Greenwich police promotion lives on, so does injunction

Greenwich Time

By Debra Friedman

The legal battle between the town and a police lieutenant over a controversial 2003 promotion is not over yet, despite a recent state .

The legal battle between the town and a police lieutenant over a controversial 2003 promotion is not over yet, despite a recent state Supreme Court decision that ruled in favor of the town.

The lawyer for Gary Honulik filed a motion for reconsideration Friday asking all seven Supreme Court justices to review the case. The initial 3-2 decision was ruled on by a five-member panel of the court. Kathryn Emmett, Honulik's Stamford-based attorney, cited the constitutional issue of a 70-year-old justice past the mandatory retirement age ruling on the matter and a split panel of justices divided over issues of labor law and contract interpretation as the reasons why reconsideration is necessary.

The motion means an injunction currently barring the police department from promoting officers to high-ranking vacant positions remains in effect.

HERE IS WHAT THE COURT SAID:

"Given the importance of the constitutional question presented, the labor law contract issue decided, the 3-2 split of the court, and the court's recognition that this case 'involves a matter of substantial public interest' reconsideration en banc should be granted,"

While the state Supreme Court ruled that the town had the right to promote whoever it wanted, Emmett claims the three justices who ruled against Honulik overlooked key facts in the case- facts that a Superior Court judge and two justices used to rule in favor of Honulik.

After A Close Split Decision That Went Against Lt. Honulik The Greenwich Time Editors Flip Flop.

A correct ruling on police promotions

Whether the plaintiff, Lt. Gary Honulik, was qualified to be captain or not, townspeople should feel reassured that senior police supervisors can be chosen at least in part on factors such as demonstrated judgment and the ability to lead personnel under them while working closely with those over them.....

...Worse yet would have been the courts deciding that town officials could not now, or perhaps even in the future, consider important factors because some perceived precedent had been established.

The Supreme Court decision was a split one, 3-2, but no matter. Indications are a request for reconsideration would have a slim chance of success. We should just be thankful that the justices ruled that tests do not have to be regarded as the sole gauge of who best can be a leader.

The Town Of Greenwich should have said from the very beginning, that there would be an added oral interview. But Former Police Commissioner Jim Lash allowed his Police Chief to don't add the interview at the end! After Lt. Honulik Out Scored Lt. Michael Pacewicz.

This was wrong. This was unfair. This was unethical.

Everyone knows this was done for political reasons.

Jim Lash and his police chief did this because they wanted low scoring Micheal "Give Me Extra Retirement Dollars" Pacewicz to be captain.

The town was actually surprised by this. They were expecting a loss and that5's why Pacewicz resigned before the decision. The fact is that 60% of the Supreme court judges were wrong and blind to the injustice that was obvious to anyone with half a brain.

The Greenwich Time Editors Are Basically Saying To Hell With Merit.
There Is Not One Shred Of Evidence That Even Remotely Suggests That Lt. Honlulik Has Ever Failed To Demonstrated The Judgment And The Ability To Lead Police Officers Under His Command. Nor Has Anyone Questioned His Ability To Be Quick And Decisive In A Crisis Or Emergency.

The Town Of Greenwich And Greenwich Police Chief David Ridberg Should Do The Right Thing And Immediately Promote Lt HonLulik To One Of The Four Open Positions And Pay Him All The Captains Pay He Lost Since 2003.

Police officers face off over injunction

By Debra Friedman
Staff Writer

A dozen police officers have filed a motion to stop an injunction that would freeze promotions.

In the injunction filed last month, Berry's lawyer, Richard Gudis, said promotions should be halted for now. Any promotion to lieutenant or above before the 2007 lawsuit is settled would hurt his clients' professional standing, according to the injunction.
However, the attorney for the dozen officers wants the court to factor in his clients' interests before making a decision.

Those ratings are a shade better than what Bush has received for most of the past year, and may represent the kind of lame-duck approval bounce Gallup has seen for other presidents.

Bush mainly has members of his own party to thank for the fact that he is ending his presidency with an approval rating above 30%. Republicans' approval of him rose from 67% in mid-December to 75% in the current poll -- their highest rating of Bush in nearly a year. By contrast, approval of Bush remains extremely scarce among Democrats, and continues to fall under 30% among independents {Like Registered Independent Greenwich Roundup} ...
